| CONCEPT | the elongated volume of the hotel breaks at the center, shifts one floor in height in response to the topography and hovers over the site, sheltering hotel lobby with reception, lounge, bar and restaurant underneath. at the point of rupture, the lower part slightly turns towards the castle for a six-storey central atrium to open up. this tectonic shift also yields corridors to widen and reposition, exposing all public areas to natural light and allowing to relate to the city and the surroundings on various levels. |
